Berlin: German Interior Ministry said that they did not have official statistics on asylum seekers who are believed to falsify their nationality.

"Germany estimates that 30 percent of migrant claiming to come from Syria actually comes from other countries," said a spokesman for the German interior ministry, on Friday (09/25/2015).

"This is an estimate based on observations of officers on the ground, especially the police, refugee and migration office of defense the EU border agency (Frontex)," the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, the German Interior Minister, Thomas de Maiziere, said, "We were looking for false Syrian passport, and no sign of anyone claiming to be from Syria, but could not speak Arabic."

Reporting from Khaleej Times, Sunday (27/09/2015), the high demand for fake passports of Syria has created its own market. Counterfeiting is primarily carried out in Turkey. It described the Head of Frontex, Fabrice Leggeri.

Germany is expected to accommodate 800 thousand to 1 million asylum seekers this year. The numbers of asylum seekers in Germany skyrocketed when the government announced that they would accommodate citizens of Syrian origin.
